Contracting Programs
Overview
The MERO administers two contracting programs:
1. Tribal Member-Owned Business (TMB) Certification
The MERO administers limited aspects of select Mashantucket Pequot contracting programs. The Tribal Member-Owned Business (TMB) Certification Program is for those businesses owned by one or more members of the Mashantucket (Western) Pequot Tribe to become certified as such by the Mashantucket Employment Rights Office (MERO) for purposes of pursuing preference in contracting opportunities with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation (MPTN). Businesses considering seeking certification are encouraged to contact the MPTN procurement department for information about potential opportunities before applying for certification. For more information, please contact the procurement department's Vendor Administrator at SDCC@mptn-nsn.gov.

2. Preference for a Federally-Funded Contract with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe
Native American contractors who believe they were denied preference for a federally funded contract with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe may file a complaint with the MERO. Such complaints are limited to allegations of denial of contracting preference for supply, service or construction contracts with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation (MPTN) that are funded by the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act of 1996 (NAHASDA) and require Indian preference in procurement by Section 7(b) of the Indian Self-Determination & Education Act (ISDEAA).The complaint form may not be used for complaints about any other denials of contracts or subcontracts entered into by MPTN or within the Mashantucket Reservation (including those funded by other sources of federal funds), bid protests or claims relating to contract performance.
